I'm dedicating this post to being crafty :) I've had so much help in Houston being close to BOTH sets of Abby's grandparents. It's made for lots of days of mommy working while Mimi and Gigi watch Abby and help me around the house. I think I'm definitely into the nesting stage of this pregnancy and instead of one nursery to nest with Abby...I have an entire house to nest with Kinsley! So...besides Chris' study and our dining room...we are UNPACKED and out of boxes! Which means I get to decorate! That is my favorite part of having a new home. Now that we have internet I'm on the search for 96" curtain panels as well.
I love our new home. We've had many night sitting outside gazing at the "lake" and enjoying the cool breezes that come with it. We've eaten more times outside in 2 weeks than we did in 2 years at our home in Dallas. We've also met so many neighbors that way and they are all so kind! The one good thing about not having cable/internet was all the time to be productive, read, spend time together relaxing and playing with Abby. We really want to continue that even with having internet and cable back.
Okay so onto the crafts...I've been spending a lot of time working on Abby's scrapbook...I want to finish before Kinsley comes because we all know that I will not have time for scrapbooking then :( I've also started Kinsley's digital scrapbook. With two babies running around I'm not sure that I'll be able to lug out all of the scrapbook supplies! I'll print it when we're done so we have it in a nice old school 12x12 scrapbook. Here's a few pages from her book...
I've also been working on some projects around the house. My cricut is all hooked up to my computer now so I've been able to make some cool wall art instead of trying to find the colors that work for our house in multiple stores. It's much easier to find scrapbook paper that matches and then go from there. I've been trying to add more color to our rooms after watching a lot of HGTV :) I really don't want to paint now so I'm trying to add it in with wall art, pillows and curtains. Our colors were just too bland before...
Taking Nate Berkus' advice and took out a piece of our green furniture so it wouldn't be all matchy matchy. We got rid of all the green pillows and found some great purple pillows at Kirklands for super cheap! I got a 2ft x 3ft picture frame and 6 12x12 scrapbook pages that went with the pillows. All on sale at Hobby Lobby! I found some super cute purple vases but they weren't on sale...I guess I'll just have to wait for next week! I think I'm going to put some dark brown wall sconces on the side of the "artwork" to keep it to scale with the couch. So glad to be back online again. More Abby posts to come and updates on our life in HTown. Wow, I'm officially a Houstonion again...or a Tombollian...is that what you call us?
