Christmas 2014

I'm so thankful for our families that love so close to us that it allows us to see everyone for Christmas. Traveling with children can be tough sometimes but I'm thankful that we have family to visit and that work so hard to make the holidays special for us and our children. The girls really got into the spirit and magic of the season. From drinking hot cocoa, to gingerbread houses, Marvin the elf, Christmas mass, Advent wreaths, cousin time, seeing aunts and uncles, Mimi & Papa, Gigi & Peepaw, frozen dolls, snow villages, and singing Christmas carols, Abby and Kinsley had so much fun. But, I think could use a week to recover from their fun :) 

We also had new additions this Christmas! Baby Charlee (our newest niece on the Mechler side) and PunPun (the Conger's foreign exchange student from Thailand). 

Thankfully Gigi and Mimi documented the Christmas journey and I borrowed their pictures. We came home and after the girls got up from their naps at 7pm ;) (they were exhausted) they realized Santa has also visited our house. Chris and I loved watching their excitement as they opened their 3 gifts (like Jesus received) and put baby Jesus in the manger. It was so beautiful watching Christmas happen through their previous little eyes. 

I love how perfectly imperfect the holidays are :) from whining kids to broken gingerbread houses...Baby Jesus came to us under the most perfectly imperfect circumstances...so thankful that God meets us exactly where we are. 

This Christmas season Chris and I realized how blessed we are. I also realized I think more than ever how much work goes into Christmas from the mamas in the families. So a huge thank you to Gigi and Mimi for all the behind the scenes work you do to make it so special for your families. We love y'all!
